The Digital Channels Crew is responsible for building the APIs and micro services delivering the integration with our partners in x15ventures and other digital platforms at CBA. We are delivering the bank of tomorrow for our 7 million customers as part of a fun, caring, inclusive, and diverse team.
On any given week you will be:
  • Acting as a technical leader specialising in Integration in the Digital Channels Crew, delivering world-class and high-quality products on the CommBank App and other digital platforms
  • Designing innovative solutions to solve complicated problems as part of a cross-functional squad
  • While not having any direct reports, you will be guiding and mentoring the engineers across your Crew to develop elegant, well tested, and maintainable code
  • Ensuring our technical approach is sound, fit for purpose, and well architected
  • Supporting deployments across our Azure, AWS, and On-Premises environments through our continuous delivery pipelines
  • Promoting a culture of continuous learning, experimentation and innovation while contributing to the definition & governance of our standards and best practices
  • Acting as the technical subject matter expert for all engineers, sharing knowledge and learning through your chapter, workshops, and guilds
  • Contributing to growing the next generation of talent through our graduate and intern academy
About you & what you will bring with you:
  • Hands-on experience building elegant APIs and microservices in a secure, high-performance environment – we use C# .NET Core and Framework but are happy to talk to people who are proficient with Java, Python, Go, C/C++, or any other general-purpose language.
  • Solid experience in designing large-scale web applications and distributed systems
  • Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers with varying levels of experience, including developing their general technical & decision-making capabilities.
  • Understand and champion a range of modern software engineering and architecture concepts, including end to end test automation, CI/CD pipelines (TeamCity), and RESTful web services.
  • Proven technical leadership skills solving problems in complex domains
  • Experience managing a wide range of stakeholders from IT through to the wider business, proactively keeping them informed of progress and obstacles in an agile environment
  • Proactively identify and manage risks, including assessing and controlling risks of various kinds and apply this appropriately to diverse situations
  • Displays courage and willing to always contribute constructive feedback - not being afraid to highlight issues and challenges and bringing alternative solutions to the table
